This session is intended for trainees and junior faculty interested in basic, translational or clinical research and hoping to set up a lab or clinical research program in their faculty job. Speakers will discuss their experiences in starting their own research programs and provide practical advice on issues such as training in translational science or clinical trials, mentorship, developing a budget, funding, and team science. At the end of the session, there will be a panel discussion and attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions of the speakers.
