When we think about sickle cell disease, hemolysis, severe anemia, and acute painful crises come to mind. As patients with this disorder achieve normal life milestones, this session highlights the the reality of daily pain in between the acute pain episodes, challenges of pregnancy, and new hematologic findings about getting older.
