Women with hematologic conditions can face unique challenges during pregnancy. Understanding pathophysiology of pregnancy and associated hematologic changes is paramount in optimal management of patients with bleeding and coagulation disorders, sickle cell disease and thrombotic microangiopathies associated with pregnancy. Dr. Michelle Sholzberg will discuss approach to pregnancy and delivery in women with bleeding disorders. Multidisciplinary management of women with von Willebrand disease, hemophilia carriers and women with platelet disorders will be reviewed. Dr. Ruchika Sharma will review recent advances in pathogenesis, management, and diagnostic methodologies of fetal and neonatal thrombocytopenia.
