Women with hematologic conditions can face unique challenges during pregnancy. Understanding pathophysiology of pregnancy and associated hematologic changes is paramount in optimal management of patients with bleeding and coagulation disorders, sickle cell disease and thrombotic microangiopathies associated with pregnancy.
Dr. Michelle Sholzberg will discuss approach to pregnancy and delivery in women with bleeding disorders. Multidisciplinary management of women with von Willebrand disease, hemophilia carriers and women with platelet disorders will be reviewed.
Dr. Ruchika Sharma will review recent advances in pathogenesis, management, and diagnostic methodologies of fetal and neonatal thrombocytopenia.
Dr. Leslie Skeith will discuss prevention and treatment of venous thromboembolism in pregnancy
Dr. Lydia Pecker will review advances in fertility assessment and preservation in sickle cell disease
Dr. Eugene Oteng-Ntim with focus on pre-implantation diagnosis and pathophysiology of sickle cell disease complications during pregnancy
Dr. Rasha Khoury will discuss effect of COVID19 infection on Pregnancy
Dr Shruti Chaturvedi will review advances in understanding of the role of complement in pregnancy complications such as catastrophic antiphospholipid syndrome and HELLP syndrome
Dr Fadi Fakhouri will review developments in understanding of pathophysiology and genetic predisposition to AHUS in Pregnancy
