This novel, 90 minute session will highlight four big ideas tackling burnout in Hematology. Trainees will be invited to submit a 500-word summary of their idea to improve clinician and trainee well-being. Four finalists will be invited to present their “big idea” in a 5-minute, TED-talk-style presentation. Each of the four finalists will then have 5 to 10 minutes to answer questions from expert judges and from the audience. Presenters will be judged on their idea, their presentation, and on how they answer questions. An over-all winner and an audience favorite will be selected and awarded cash prizes.
The session will be anchored by an introductory talk on physician-burnout from a recognized expert and public speaker, who will frame the problem and some of its drivers, setting the stage for big ideas from the next generation.
We anticipate that this session will be of interest to all attendees and all are welcome. The session will be made available on-demand after editing.
