Description:

This session will focus on recent advances in large cell lymphoma, including transformed disease, with a focus on diagnostic and prognostic considerations, as well as treatment options.

Dr. Eric Hsi will discuss the diagnosis and classification of the pathologic subtypes of large cell lymphoma. He will review morphologic features and the use and interpretation of immunophenotyping, gene expression profiling, cytogenetics and mutational analyses.

Dr. Jonathan Friedberg will review therapeutic approaches for large cell lymphoma. He will discuss prognostic assessment and the impact of pathologic and molecular characteristics on the selection of therapy. He will highlight existing and emerging data on the use of novel treatments and combinations in the upfront and relapsed/refractory settings.

Dr. Silivia Montoto will discuss the epidemiology and biology of transformed follicular lymphoma. She will then review prognosis and therapeutic options including the choice of initial chemotherapy and the role of consolidation, including the use of stem cell transplantation.
